Info about Recommending Resources

Since adding an email address to the main page, I've received a few emails from people who would like me to link to a specific resource. I wasn't really expecting this, but I'm glad that people see Candy Hospital as a potential means of spreading helpful information! On this page, I'd like to explain how my process works for adding links so people know what to expect when they email me:

  • There are no fees for having your content linked to on my personal website, and you do not have to treat it like a business interaction. I think it's kind of cute when staff from larger sites write to me like I'm running some kind of service, but I promise I'm just a hobbyist who likes to collect webpages.
  • Further to the above, it's fine to send me something that you or your organization made, even if you work for a for-profit company, but I will not share your content if I get the sense that you're just trying to promote your business interests. I only link to pages that I think are useful, and I tend to be very cautious about linking to sites that prominently advertise a paid product or service.
  • I use these basic criteria for deciding whether to add a link to my site:
    • It would make sense to put the resource on either my Mental Health or Pregnancy Help resource pages.
    • It contains no harmful or false information as far as I can tell.
    • It doesn't contain exactly the same information as something I've already linked to.
  • Please also note that this is a personal website maintained by one woman as a hobby. I am in university full time right now, so I don't update this website very often. I've gotten better at replying to emails in a timely manner, but it still might be a while between me accepting your suggestion and actually adding it to the website. If you want me to notify you when I add your link, please let me know in your email.

Thank you for reading! If you would like to recommend a resource for my resource lists, you can email me at emodollie@vivaldi.net.
